ABS Pune, British Council and British Library to support Chemistry Workshops for School Children

The Association of British Scholars, Pune has joined the British Council and the British Library in actively supporting the Chemistry Workshops planned for school children from the Pune region by the Exciting Science Group (www.excitingscience.org), National Chemical Laboratory-Pune (www.ncl-india.org) and IISER-Pune (www.iiserpune.ac.in) on the occassion of the International Year of Chemistry being celebrated world-wide.

The workshops aim to introduce around 1200 school children from around 40 schools  to the exciting side of chemistry through lectures- demonstrations- handon lab experiments and lab tours. More information on the proposed programs is available at: http://www.excitingscience.org/IYC2011/index.php

The Association of British Scholars is proud to support this activity. British Scholars have contributed immensely to chemical sciences and engineering  scholarship and teaching in Pune city over many years. The formal launch of the event will be held on 22 June 2011. Mr Vijay Laghate, President, ABS-Pune  and Ms Kajari Mitra, Head, British Library shall be speaking at the launch.
